The Briar Rose Collection  are Animal Studies created by Mr Ray Bossons. There was originally 17 ornaments produced between 1972 and 1973, these were made until 1979. The Cheshire Cat and Squirrel were added  in 1989. These ornaments where conceived during a period of illness and recuperation. Mr Bossons initially decided to make a mini caricature model of their pet Shetland Pony.

Seven of the original 17no were made in very limited numbers, the large Hippo being one of the rarer models.

In 1972 there were a very few number of Pelican and Toucans made over and above the original 17no. These pieces are rare. Another find was Penguin, this is in addition to the original 17no.

Briar Rose was part of  Fraser Art Division but unlike Fraser Art they were made from Gypsum Plaster and decorated to resemble Rose Wood.

Pieces should have the Briar Rose stamp on the base.
