Chaka (1st Version)

1st Version - Series A Composite. Sculpted by Fred Wright. Height 8 inches. Has a brown  headband or red headband with yellow spots. Produced between 1962 and 1967.

It has the inverted wire hanger and a sticker which reads "Chaka Zulu Warrior King 1788-1828

1st Version Chaka
 
Chaka transformed the insignificant tribe of Zulus into the fierce warrior nation which terrorized a large part of South Africa during the 19th century. Under his ruthless direction the whole Zulu nation was organized for the sole purpose of war and conquest. Chaka was murdered by his two brothers during the conspiracy of 1828.

Produced between 1970 and 1996. Height 6 inches. Series B Composite.

1st Version has hollow back + staple mount and is slightly larger.

2nd Version tends to be a lighter colour.

Shelf Ornament produced between 1962 and 1963. Sculpted by Fred Wright. Height 8 inches. There is also a rarer lamp version. Tibetan is the similar wall hung version and is  is Very Common. Also see Chensing Lamp (see Lamps)

Produced between 1970 and March 1992 when the mould was destroyed. Sculpted by Fred Wright. Height 11 inches. Wall Figurine Composite.

This model came with a plain or painted shield. The painted shield version is rarer.

Notice that the above models are painted slightly differently from the model on the right (look at the shields in particular).  This is not unusual for Bossons models which were all hand painted by different paintresses, so some variations were inevitable (SC & FO).
