Lott's Cottage, Suffolk
18 x 14 inch high Rectangular Plaque. Engraved W Ray Bossons
in the lower RH bottom. There is a paintress mark & date located just off
the river edge in the grass an the lower left side of the plaque.
The date reads 1956 with letters which appear to be a D over M which could
be paintress D Moores.

'Willy
Lott's Cottage' is a 16th Century cottage made famous by the 1821 oil
painting entitled "The Hay Wain" by English artist John Constable.
Willy Lott was a tenant farmer and was said
to have been born in the house and never left it for more than four days in
his lifetime. He lived there from 1758 to 1842, to the age of 84. |
