Brook Mills Photos 4 - September 2002 |
The 'Priesty Brook' ran alongside the factory. Employees crossed the brook to get to the Canteen from the Factory. In the early 1960's Bossons only used the Mill alongside the brook and the properties on the other side of the walkway. The main part of Brook Mills was then used by Halsteads who made shirts.
Above is the old Fire Station. This building was later used by the Congleton Co-op Shop as a garage for the coal delivery wagon and the travelling shop.
This sign was located above the main entrance doors to the old Fire Station building. C & J B refers to C & J banks who had a garage business just over the road.
