WHY ARE THE SAME BOSSONS sometimes DIFFERENT SIZES |
Sikh |
Below are a number of examples that clearly show a difference in the sizes of finished Bossons.
One suggestion is that as the 'moulds' aged
they tended to enlarge themselves with use. This subsequently resulted in larger models being
produced from the old moulds.
This philosophy is interesting
and may be true, however the Sikh below shows a larger left head the comes
with the older protruding hanger, whereas the right head has the newer
recessed wire, and it is smaller. Could it be that the newer heads would
be smaller meaning the moulds would shrink over age. This size differences can be
anything up to 1/2" inch. The older heads often had a darker
richer colouring than the newer ones. Possibly the older models would be
darker with age/dirt etc, or maybe the paints used at the time were
different, or the paintress lightened the newer models. |
